You should google for 'gcj'.  That's only one simple example and to
suggest that Java is always 'interpreted' is just naive.  You do know
that machine code is 'interpreted' by the CPU too, right?  But yes,
this is off-topic and doesn't help the OP.

Btw, to the OP -- you have three options, whether you like it or not:

1) SqueezePlay
2) SoftSqueeze
3) Just use winamp or your normal player and play the FLAC files directly.
