I agree 110%!    I have an 250 GB USB external hard drive full of FLAC
files that I would like to play anywhere.  Seems like the Boom should
have a USB input.  It would solve my upcoming problem (see below).

My office is "upgrading" and restricting the software installed on our
soon-to-arrive new computers -- for security.  So no more Foobar2000 to
listen to my music.  Any suggestions on how to listen to my 12,000 FLAC
files at work without being able to add additional software?  

Instead of the Boom with a USB connection for my office (which would be
simple), I was thinking about this way too complicated solution -- the
Linux wall wart with SC installed connected to the USB external hard
drive as source and a SB with powered speakers for music.
