That would depend on your use. If you want an SB3 on your bedside table then yeah, that's a lot of wasted space. My SB3 is "floating" as it were in my AV rack, not even taking up rack shelf space. Simple heavy gage wire "mounted" on the back of the AV rack acting as an "arm" holding up the SB3. All wires (ethernet, optical, power, support wire) are completely hidden inside a black "sleeve" which shows as the arm. Can't do that with a 19" box. :) My point was, far better functionality, far more supported codecs and services, in a small enough box that doesn't even require shelf space.
