I could have sworn my network was OK - PCs were working, game consoles ran internet games etc. Turned out for me it was one port on my gigabit switch that was failing intermittently. 99.9% of the time the port worked fine, the other 0.1% it crapped out for 10-20 seconds. As usual with these things, the port started to fail at the same time I upgraded to 7.3.3, so naturally I chose to blame the software!
