Despite the fact that the device is called the Boom, implying BoomBox, it's not marketed as a portable device. Yes, it's easily moved around, but there is not handle to carry it by which you would expect in a portable device. There is also no battery. Regardless, I agree with you that adding SD and USB connectivity would be a nice evolution of product, along with a built in battery.
