I use another solution for the controller. I have a Philips Pronto 9400
touch screen remote control with an application to control the
Squeezebox. It is not a very cheap solution but the application is
embedded in a remotecontrol-only solution, which I think is ideal.
Controlling my home equipment and controlling a Squeezebox. It
communicates directly by WiFi.

The only disadvantage is that the Pronto's Screen is blanks after 30
sec.
And I like the idea of a LCD screen in the SB Touch which is always
on.
You can look at each moment to see what's playing without waking up a
remote control. And that is something I can't with my Pronto. And
probably also not with an iPhone/Pod.

But I think there would be a market for touch screen remote solution if
it responds fast. Just take the touch screen from the SB Touch, put it
in a flat and small case and there is a touch screen controller...

But on the other hand the tablet pc are coming. Who knows what's
possible then . . .
