The Transporter is not a preamp, it is another digital source. If it was a preamp, I would agree. I just found it a bit disingenuous that the only reason he never purchased a Transporter was that he would have to push the volume button before adjusting the volume with the Transnav knob and as it turns out, from the comfort of his easy chair.
