The reviews of the A2 and A5 on these forums (and elsewhere) are overwhelmingly positive. However, if you read a good number of them you'll notice consistent references to the bass being ramped up. I really enjoy my A2s, but that given their bass response I would be reluctant to place them on bookshelves near the corners of the room. Maybe some of the other options folks have mentioned here are a bit more honest on the low end.
That being said, few of the other options out there will match the Audioengines in terms of aesthetics and build quality.
