another one tries this way for the moment: i forward it just from email with copy and paste.
I gave my hardware direct to another developer so not all what are interest for this and do compile or look arround have the hardware :-) Idea is to do it remote... maybee to make it more easy and ralphy get some developer ideas he open a mailinglist at sourceforge. Hopefully he can get for further developement some new helpers. If he have remote access for example to a machine in US than he can solve things like pandora or if in germany he can have a look to lastfm. there some services are free. this machine for now have no alsa for example but the company can compile another firmware. now the stuff from another developer who gave me a mail... --------------------------------------------------------- > we will check what can be done in our side with alsa. For the Xtreamer it would be great if you/we could design an ALSA driver that would patch the Linux sound output to the sound firmware in the "secret corner" of the Xtreamer through some kind of mixer/cross-fader. For the eTRAYz, just compiling the generic USB sound driver for ALSA (plus all other stuff needed to support it) should do the trick. I did some more checking of the squeezeslave code and I found that: 1 - the mp3 decoder library (libmad) does not use floating-point arithmetic 2 - FLAC decoder can be built integer-only (code is there, now I have to figure out how it is enabled) So, that leaves me to replace the Ogg/Vorbis decoding to its fixed-point Tremor alternative (not a big task, according to the author) and we're all set to go. Can someone point me to an active Squeezebox server somewhere in Europe so that I can test this modified integer-only version on my native PC later this week? Once I get usable audio on my PC we'll snip out all the audio code and move on to native performance testing on eTRAYz and Xtreamer. Any help will be appregiate regards Wilfried -- arztde ------------------------------------------------------------------------ arztde's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=29528 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=63966 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
