Yeah, that's the idea anyway. Also to see if it might be a brightness setting, or IR remote problem, or something else simple. But I wouldn't get my hopes up, just something to try. :( If it is the VFD display you could email support and ask if they sell them, but it may cost more than you paid for it. They used to repair any SB3, regardless of problem, for a flat $90.
