Thanks for the replies. I decided to start on the lower end of the
budget and went with the Polk Atrium 45. Installed them over the
weekend and listened to them for a few hours and I'm quite pleased.
Obviously this isn't a critical listening situation, what with the
ambient semi-urban noise of cars, lawn mowers, helicopters, etc. But
great for background music or casual listening at volumes that won't
bother the neighbors.

If anyone else is thinking along these lines, I should say that the
AudioSource AMP100 may be a little underpowered for the Atrium 45
speakers. I know that outdoor speakers tend to sound soft because
you're not containing the sound within a room, but even on my tests of
the system indoors I had to crank the amp's volume more than I expected
to get a decent volume level (especially compared to using the same
model amp with 2 pairs of Polk RC60i speakers in my kitchen). It's good
enough for the volume levels I've needed so far, but it wouldn't stand
up to an outdoor dance party. I'll try a different amp at some point to
compare.
