Hi, It may not be the ideal solution for your setup but i once had a router upstairs and a homeplug downstairs, which also repeated the wireless signal. I managed to set the SSID of the homeplug the same as the router so when i moved around the house, my units just chose the SSID with the stronger signal (although they both had the same name , they had different channels).
