One point overlooked so far is that a wired ethernet connection can also have momentary interruptions due to network traffic and the processing needs of other programs that are necessary to run a computer. Simply put, a wired computer connection is not a smooth, uninterrupted flow either.
As someone else noted, that's what the device's buffer is for. Several years back I unplugged the CAT-5 cable from my SB3 and counted. If my memory isn't too faulty, I recall it took about 8 seconds before the music stopped. There was certainly no deterioration in sound quality during the interruption - it played perfectly until it stopped. A wireless connection does add a few other sources of potential interference, but those are quite noticeable if they are creating a problem. -- mlsstl ------------------------------------------------------------------------ mlsstl's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=9598 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=80087 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
