Have you tried calling Logitech support about the problem. Many people
here, including myself, have called them and asked about replacing the
remote and asking how they can purchase one since they are no longer
shown on the Logitech website. If you are nice enough, sound contrite
and just ask how you can control your SB Classic without a remote they
will generally send you one free as a "one time" consideration. But you
may have to beg and plead since they are no longer being made and are
running out of them; I would assume that they would need to keep a
certain number for SBs that are still under warranty.
