Thanks. That has been helpful information. I probably should have stated that the receiver is an Onkyo TX-SR805. It, along with my JBL L880 speakers, are built more for movies, but it has a Burr Brown DAC which seems to be pretty good from what I've read.
Also, as far as 'Pure' is concerned, I get mixed input from everyone regarding using this setting. It turns off all the video signals and apparently makes no adjustments to the audio stream and ignores the equalizer.
