Have you tried with Squeezeplay then you get an "emulator" that behaves
like a Touch/Radio/Controller thingy .
Nothing prevents you from having both installed.

I would not at all be surprised if some subscription services only
works with real hardware players.
But I have no hard facts  where I live we don't have to many of these
services.

For further emulations try-outs of the system you can run softplayers
on other machines and try the web-UI from another computer (if XP has
the corect firewall settings etc)
