Briefly on my set up: I have 6 total SB's, 3 are wired and connected to good quality stereo systems, 3 are wireless and are SB booms or equivalent quality.
I generally run all 6 of my SB's synced - even if I am not moving around the house I find that easier than tinkering with the sync settings. Here's my question: on the wireless SB's I have enabled LAME conversion to MP3 and maximum bitrate to 192k. The fact is, those systems are not good enough for me to hear the difference with, and I find SB syncing more reliable when bitrates are limited over wireless. At the same time, I don't have any bit rate limiting on the wired players. Someone in another thread mentioned to me that if you have players synced and you play 96/24 content, a SB Touch won't get 96/24 if you have lesser SB's on the network. One thing I am wondering about, though, is is the same thing effectively true when LAME is enable with one player and I'm syncing to others where LAME is not enabled -- ie do I get effectively the lowest bit rate stream, are some players getting a lossless stream while others are getting LAME. Finally, is it possible to see what bit rate the player itself is getting? I would have thought that this would be in now playing somewhere, but I don't see it. -- robotron2 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ robotron2's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=33653 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=84604 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
