I may have backed the wrong horse too.

I am a network, VOIP and systems engineer working on the field for
around 15 years now.

I bought SLIMP3s way back when and used to order them im bulk to save
shipping and sell them on to friends (at no extra charge) and have
turned in to a bit of a Squeezebox evangelist.

For about a year now I have not had a stable SB environment. Wierd
issues have come up (Only playing one track, the sync being terrible or
general dropouts)

I also find the concept of Squeezenetwork and changing between the
server and SQN strange. I constantly had to explain to people how to
swap between the two (Digging down in to the Menus of a SB3...) I also
think that the Duet is the worst thing I have ever seen but the
Squeezebox Radio is extremly cool!

I bought 3 Sonos S5 and set them up in a snap. Everything has been rock
solid for a week! Everybody knows how they work and it just works!

I understand that most threads are about people not getting things to
work because their powerline adaptors are not working with thier 30$
routers which are crashing and have no range or whatever, but I live in
a semi detached house in a area where most people don't have wireless
and use state of the art (so to say) network equipment. I should be
excellent at getting these things to work...

Over the last couple of months I have found myself listening to less
and less music... Just because I can't face the frustration of the SBs
not working...

Never the less I was thinking of getting rid of my SB network and
buying a Sonos system. It costs a lot more, but what is the price of
having something that works and people enjoy using... I am still on the
fence..

Maybe Logitech should stop worrying about people being able to tell
each other on Facebook what track they are listening to or getting
certain apps to work.... Just make the systems work in sync without
dropouts and without missing a beat!
