It intrigues me that Squeezeslave did play my 24/96 tracks but around a
whole tone lower.  I'm guessing that SBS downscaled the 24/96 to 16/48,
and that the difference between 44.1 and 48 accounts for the change in
pitch.

I may, of course, be completely wrong.

I don't mind admitting that when I first noticed the change in pitch I
was somewhat panicked, thinking that maybe something in my recording
chain was wrong for many dozens of LPs recorded on my system (anything
from the record player itself, through wav editing to conversion to
flac).  I was much relieved to find it was squeezeslave itself.

on Ethernet (in another room).  Analogue out over 'a bit of wire' to
ageing Quad Hi-Fi. An old (wireless) laptop controls the server using
Chrome.
