I don't know (or understand) anything about the Pi's specs. But I'm intrigued with the possibility of turning one into a low-cost squeezebox clone running squeezeslave. And what about the audiophile possibilities? Could you route the audio on the hdmi port to spdif into a good dac? Would there be a cheaper way to do it than this:
