Since AAC streams don't play and AAC files play OK - the problem is the
faad on your system.
Checking back on the output you got from your faad - I noticed the that
faad on your system is standard faad and not LMS patched faad. The LMS
patches enables faad to process streams.
Your faad looks like
Code:
--------------------
*********** Ahead Software MPEG-4 AAC Decoder V2.7 ******************
Build: Dec 28 2011
Copyright 2002-2004: Ahead Software AG

--------------------
LMS patched faad looks like
Code:
--------------------
*********** Ahead Software MPEG-4 AAC Decoder V2.7 ******************
Patched for Squeezebox Server:
* ALAC decoder integrated
* Seeking support with -j and -e switches
* STDIN support
* Source at http://svn.slimdevices.com/repos/slim/7.5/trunk/vendor/faad2
Build: Apr 14 2010
Copyright 2002-2004: Ahead Software AG

You need to go back to who ever supplied your copy of faadf and get
them to build a proper version with LMS patches. You should also get
them to build flac with LMS patches for flac as well.
