The settings may be part of LMS but the sync procedure has been changed and tweaked over the years and so there may be variations between players as players can vary (e.g. SB1 has a smaller buffer than SB3) . I think you should leave everything at the system installation default. Enable the logging. it will give you a clearer idea about what is happening and what is triggering the "skips".
