Well yes of-course, I sugesting that what can be done locally should be , some subscription services are another matter . I think you and the other programmers may be better than me to find the balance . My thinking was if a third party steps in and run a future mysb.com replacement it will not be as powerfull and have logitechs resources , but most end users have cpu power in abundance at home . So doing things locally to not bog down the service . I can see the practical reasons for logitech as they do it now to keep most services at mysb.com even if they could be local ,as you say maintenance is easier . But that may be an expensive solution if done on hobby basis . I was also thinking about the legacy players that are more server dependent . But sure some things can be done locally in the Touch or Radio too, for example a local alarm code and ntp to get time from somewhere not mysb.com or local server . If someone forks the code , I can see long standing bugfixes comming too :) some that are not even considered during the current regime . So it is not all bad . ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Mnyb's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4143 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=96208 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
