I also had Big problems with my early slimp3 when I tried going from
5.4.1 to the oct 12 6.2 nightly. Dropouts with many basic functions
(after everything was scanned). Try and access the web interface?
Music stops.

I have tried many 6.X releases and have always had to go back. I have
friends with slimp3's who also still run 5.x and just laugh when I
tell them I'm getting ready to try 6.x Again..

So I went back to 5.4.1. Of course it would no longer work because my
config was trashed so I had to restore.

I've considered buying a newer unit but they require 6.x and it is
hard for me to commit given the problems and that this would basically
be accepting that my Slimp3 is Obsolete And No Longer Supported.

Of course my choice is apparently now Ebay only since I fall into the
"ewwwww" camp in regard to the sb3 form factor. Regarding the sb3
styling, I've read a lot of comments from folks who do Not like it.
Focus groups before changing a design, anyone???
