I've considered buying a newer unit but they require 6.x and it is hard for me to commit given the problems and that this would basically be accepting that my Slimp3 is Obsolete And No Longer Supported.
I don't know the details of your setup, but I was using my SB1s and SLIMP3 without any trouble with the 6.2 release without trouble. Both had the latest firmware, and the server was running on OS X.
