More reason for a squeezebox type barrel is that it is not only the Touch that has this barrel but also SB3/Classic (I don't know what the SB2 came with ) reciever ismthe oddball with 9v . And it has been popular over the years to buy or build 3rd party supplies so that's a reason for a user to have more supplies than squeezeboxes . And also the squeezeboxes seems to break down before the ps , so there will be a bunch of SB3 owners eager to have something new ( gen 2 ) .
A good questions is how much power it's going to use , and how more it's reasonable to calculate for the use of external hardrive or depending on how much power th internal USB can provide ,should bus powered drives be allowed at all ?
