Yes, you paid for the Logitech service when you purchased the hardware
players.
Yes, Logitech will eventually stop the service.
Your issue is with Logitech, not the community.

Yes, the community has banded together to try and replace the eventual
canceling of the Logitech service.
Yes, there is community cost in time and money.
But you expect their investment in time and money to be offered for
free.

Using your crazy form of logic:  you buy a new car, that car company
goes out of business, you have repairs needed that would normally be
covered under warranty.  Now you expect some independent third party car
mechanic to fix your car for free.

Your sense of entitlement as it relates to the community is perverse, at
best.

BTW:  *I* am not involved with app/plugin/LMS/ickstream development in
any way.  I'm just a user that is VERY grateful such talented and
devoted developers are investing their time and efforts in (hopefully)
saving my SB player usage from an early death, for which I will gladly
pay a reasonable price in return.
