While personally I use this player on my various Android devices there is now a 2nd Android playback app called SB Player, in the blurb it claims to support track and album gain, might be worth a look.
I'm not sure I like recommending a competitors product so sorry about that. Let me just say I don't use gain tags and am very happy with Squeeze player.
