Actually, there is. Just "tap and hold" the button on the top-left, instead of tapping it multiple times (or hitting the back button). That will bring you to the top of the hierarchy (Home) instead of just one level back. Sure, the UI of SqueezeCommander could benefit with an update, but it's holding up remarkably well I think.
