Well, I tried doing something new. Instead of telling LMS to start LMS upon boot or login, I told it to do nothing. Then, after reboot, I started it manually. Now the stop button works, and it looks like I can change the playlist. Maybe I just have to remember not to try to use any automatic start feature. I hope that is the fix! (I have not tried rescanning everything, which was impossible earlier.) And I hope I remember that fix. Thanks to both of you for suggestions! jeff
