smartgain = replaygain .

LMS has setting on how it uses these tags ,in the player setings you can
choose different methods album or track gain (the smart part ) or not at
all .

Replay gain will in genral make a component about 10bB more quiet if
listen to typical pop/rock music .

A CD player has no such facility , so when comparing the Squeezebox
volume would adjust to different tracks ,but the CD player would not ?
it would be hard to do fair comparisions under such circumsstances
