The important part is probably just that it needs to be released by a
company rather than a person, so the company handles any liability
issues instead of the individual persons behind the work.
There might never be any legal issues, but if it happens you don't want
to take the fight as an individual as it will require both money and
time.

I don't understand the exact legal problems, but it's probably a good
idea to not discuss them in public, I don't think we should risk making
more potential issues visible to the wrong people.
