Why even post if you don't want to take ten minutes trying to figure out the problem? Try it without the DAC to see if the DAC _is_ the source of the issue. Nobody is suggesting you get rid of the DAC or leave it bypassed. If it's not the DAC, then you still have the problem and you can look elsewhere.
