Besides, the Chromecasts are not really aesthetically pleasing. There's supposed to be hidden away. You can achieve the same with a Raspi + Vesa mount.
As for pricing: Yeah, the Chromecasts are a little cheaper. But they offer less functionality. And you're only getting what Google wants. They tell you it's an open ecosystem but that couldn't be farther from the truth. Selected parts are open. Other parts force you to pay Google with your personal data.
