While using it as a player for LMS is OK but after that I'm confused -
you need to spell this out much much clearer.  I don't know what would
use to control this Chromecast player and how it will be used - you need
to describe your ideal user experience in detail.

Nobody is committing to anything and personally I don't have lots of
time and I have higher priority projects. As I said in my post - the aim
was to ground solutions in reality.  I think mixing Chromecast with DLNA
is a waste of time and unlikely as it would be supporting a
"competitor's" solution as uPNP was an initiative promoted by MS and
Intel.  This is the world of commerce - think real world..  Neither
Google or Apple are members of DLNA. Chromecast does not support WMA
formats or Airplay.
