Thanks. You can also set up a pi using max2play from a ready-made image. If you wanted you could use the same pi2 as you use as server. You could probably also set of squeezelite yourself using localplayer from your existing LMS depending on version.
The big picture point is that you don't need to have a fancy streamer; you can use any old streamer and the dac of your choice. There are a few compatiblity issues with usb out from a pi to some dacs, but this can be worked around. If you like using lms I would stick with it as server and then iether go for a pi with a dac board (there are several sorts) or pi plus an ordinary outboard dac of your choice.
