I purchased a Touch off ebay not too long ago. I think if you find a seller that has good ratings and they say it's in good condition, you're reasonably safe. I've been seeing them in the $200 and up range of late although if/when you find a new one, they're much pricier.
Unfortunately, I did have a bad experience buying a used Boom - torn bass seals. Of course, if you're a bit of a tech guy, there are lots of fun options to building something yourself as noted above.
