According to the ifixit site ( https://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/Chromecast+2015+Teardown/50189 ) the dac is "AKM AK4430 192kHz 24-Bit Stereo DAC" - but I guess firmware and available ram may limit it to 96kHz.
