Just for reference 

A static IP is set on the device itself
A reserved IP is set in the DHCP server and says - when the device with
this specific MAC address connects always give it this IP out of the
range

A DHCP also tells devices what DNS server to use so if for example you
wanted to stop using one DNS server in favour of another you just change
it in one place not on every machine
