I just bought a set of 'IR Extenders' to use in my kitchen with a SB1. The
stereo and SB are in the laundry room off the kitchen with the door shut, so
this would allow the SB to be controlled by pointing it to the extender in
the kitchen.

This worked great for about 12 hours, and has now stopped working and I
can't figure it out. With the IR Extender (Radio Shack model) on, and the
transmitter placed directly in front of the SB, the SB does not respond to
the remote. It doesn't respond even to the normal remote held directly in
front of it. Turn off the IR Extender, the SB remote returns to normal
operation. These extenders are pretty simple technology, just transforms ir
to rf and back to ir at the stereo/SB. The only thing I've noticed is that
the transmitter in front of the SB pretty much has constant RF activity
going on, as demonstrated by the flickering LED inside the device. I'm
wondering if there's some kind of 'feedback loop' with the SB sending IR
signals to the transmitter.

Any ideas?
