Sorry, I misunderstood your original post. Of course swapping the speakers will make the channels come out the wrong side.
I notice the HD6 has RCA analogue inputs and outputs, presumably as some kind of passthrough facility. I wonder if a toslink signal fed in appears at the analogue outputs, and if so, whether you could feed those analogue outputs back into the analogue inputs and reverse the channels that way? In other words, the HD6's DAC might always be active, even if you've selected to use the analogue inputs. Probably not, but it might be worth an experiment. Something else you could try would be to open up the master speaker (I see screws on the backplate in a picture) and see if the connections between the internal amps and speakers are easily swappable - they may well be push-on spade connectors that you could easily switch round.
