I have a RT-AX56U, and turned off WiFi6 for only the 2.4 Ghz band, WiFi6 is active for the 5 Ghz. I don't notice the difference. Anything new that needs a faster Wifi uses the 5 Ghz band. I turned off smart connect so I could be selective to band utilization.
