This x10 regarding PSUs.  Ninety percent of the problems I see with the
older SBs now are just a fading supply.   

The original supplies are now 15+ years old in many cases.  It's the
very first thing to check when one starts misbehaving.

I just had to revive a Classic that was buffering out and randomly
freezing up.  Still dragging along on the OE PSU.  

Sure enough, a fresh supply brought it back strong.  A couple buffs with
Scratch-X, and that 'dying' Classic looks like it just came from the
factory.
