I have this problem too. No error messages or anything, just incorrect
/ jumbled / missing data for Browse Albums / artists etc, though 'Browse
Music Folder' is OK and the album artwork appears to be correct.

No, none. All mp3, but then 97% of my stuff is mp3.

Not using it with Slimserver, but it is installed on this PC
04dgmsilv: You said there is only one album. What is the name given for
that album?
highdudgeon: When you say there is no completion note: During the scan,
the Home page (left pane) should say "Slimserver is scanning your
music". When it's done, it should say "Your music library contains so
many albums, artists and songs." Does it not do that?
macdaddy: when the server shuts down, what is the error message?
