I've installed the firmware update. I didn't see any instructions to remove mapped drives before doing so, but it doesn't seem to have caused any problems as all my previously created drives seem to be accessible and working. I am now copying over my music files. It's fairly slow, but I am copying from one NAS drive to another via a router. The big leap forward is that the copying process has been progressing without hang-ups for a few hours now - hooray!!
