Sorry about that. By recursive, I meant playlists or shortcuts that ended up referencing themselves. A circular reference.
I don't have much more advice, but I remember seeing something about iTunes synchronization time. I believe if you back it off a bit, i.e. synch every hour or so, the problem is eliminated.
