2) I installed the tarball over the rpm, but the rpm installs (I
think) additional files like start-up scripts.
rm -rf /usr/local/slimserver
rm /etc/slimserver.conf
rm /tmp/slimserver.log
rm /etc/sysconfig/slimserver (I think)
rm /etc/init.d/slimserver
at that point, you'd still have the rpm noted in the rpm database, but
should have nothing left of slimserver
