I started ripping my CDs in 1999-2000. As far as I know, most of these other formats had not come around before then, or if they were around they weren't well known. Storage space was more of an issue back then, though it's not anymore. I also can't tell an audible difference (and I don't consider myself an "audiophile" at all). I ripped my music collection for the convenience of not having to swap CDs all the time. These days, I stay with MP3 because I couldn't bear the thought of re-ripping, and because it's most compatible with our portable players, TiVo, etc. -- MeSue Sue PS: I want a Squeezebox boombox. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ MeSue's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=985 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=23701 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
