while i agree that KD Lang should be the same as K.D. Lang, (a simple matter of parsing like every website in the world does with telephone #s - 212-555-555 is the same as 212555555 etc) i would sincerely hope that Tiesto and DJ Tiesto would be listed differently. would JS Bach and KPE Bach be the same artist in this scenario?.
this is completely different from my current one where David Bowie and david bowie show up as different artists. but really, none of this would bother me if it didn't all look exactly the way i wanted it to in iTunes. if you're going to let iTunes manage your music, we shouldn't have to second guess what slimserver is going to do with the data. yes i can fix my data - and i have, but this type of thing keeps popping up especially when i get 100% of my tags from freedb where inconsistencies happen a lot. ----- Original Message ----- From: "radish" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, May 23, 2006 2:31 PM Subject: [slim] Re: server database is case sensitive and that's bad. readwhy. > > > Yeah, and it should sort out KD Lang too: I mean 'K.D.Lang' is obviously > > the same as 'KD.
