Well, as a general rule having a server (your laptop in this case) connecting wirelessly isn't ideal, especially over a B network, as every communication between SB and server has to make two wireless hops. But it doesn't sound like that would be the cause of what you describe. Have you checked for valid unique IP addresses throughout your network? Otherwise it does sound like the router might be sick...
